The Powercut Compendium

A tech-savvy theatre company, fresh from the city, begin their latest show when the room is plunged into sudden darkness. Is it a blow-out – or something more mysterious? Join the “gloriously theatrical” (Wall Street Journal) Cartoon de Salvo on a journey into wonder – with restless ghosts, lost legends, some stuffed animals, and three characters who only begin to see when they can’t see at all.

One of the UK’s best loved rural touring companies, Cartoon de Salvo (Meat & Two Veg, The Chaingang Gang, Pub Rock) have made shows everywhere from your local allotment to Soho Theatre and the Kennedy Center Washington. Now they draw on fifteen years of taking theatre to village halls with this new show, promising their trademark mix of exceptional storytelling, gorgeous live music and swashbuckling adventure.

The show is for adults and brave children who aren’t afraid of the dark (Ages 8+).

Optional Post Show Party / Open Mic

The Powercut Compendium is about sharing stories and experiences. At the end of each performance we offer promoters the opportunity to host an open mic post show party. It’s a chance for promoters to keep the bar open and sell food, and for audience members to tell a story, recite a poem or sing a song. It’s also a great opportunity for a social knees-up!
